Is MkulimaSmart only for large-scale farmers?
Not at all! MkulimaSmart is designed for farmers of all scales - from small-scale subsistence farmers to large commercial operations. Our free tier is perfect for small farms, and our premium features scale with your needs.
How do I create an account?
Click "Get Started" on our homepage. Fill in your name, email, phone number, county, and create a password. Verify your email address, complete your farm profile, and you're ready to go! The whole process takes less than 5 minutes.
How do I add my crops and livestock?
After logging in, go to Dashboard → Crops to add crops with planting dates, varieties, and locations. For animals, go to Animals → Add Animal to track health records, breeding, milk/egg production, and vaccination schedules.
Can I use MkulimaSmart on my phone?
Yes! Our platform is fully responsive and works on smartphones, tablets, and computers. Simply visit our website on any browser. Native Android and iOS apps are coming soon!
Is MkulimaSmart free?
We offer a generous free tier with basic features. Premium plans start at KES 500/month for advanced AI diagnosis, expert consultations, detailed analytics, and priority support. Enterprise plans are available for cooperatives and large farms.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept M-Pesa, Airtel Money, bank transfers (Equity, KCB, Co-op), and debit/credit cards. All payments are processed securely through Paystack. M-Pesa payments are instant.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancel anytime from Account Settings → Subscription. Your premium access continues until the end of your billing period. No cancellation fees. You keep access to all your data.
How does AI crop diagnosis work?
Upload a photo of your affected crop or describe symptoms. Our AI analyzes the image and symptoms to identify diseases, pests, or deficiencies. You get a detailed report with treatment options, prevention tips, and when to seek expert help.
How do I sell produce on the marketplace?
Go to Marketplace → Create Listing. Add product details, quantity, price, county, and photos. Buyers across Kenya can find your listing, contact you, or add to cart. You manage everything from your listings dashboard.
How do I connect with agricultural experts?
Browse verified experts by county, specialization, and experience in the Experts section. Ask free questions or book paid consultations for in-depth advice, farm visits, and ongoing support.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Click "Sign In" → "Forgot Password". Enter your email, and we'll send a reset link. Create a new password (minimum 8 characters) and log in. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder.
The app is loading slowly. How can I fix it?
Try: 1) Check your internet connection 2) Clear browser cache 3) Close other apps/tabs 4) Refresh the page 5) Try a different browser. If issues persist, contact support.
How do I report a bug?
Email support@mkulimasmart.com with: description of the issue, screenshots if possible, steps to reproduce, and your device/browser info. We typically respond within 24 hours.
Which crops grow best in my area?
Use our AI Assistant or Climate section for county-specific recommendations. You can also browse the Crops section for detailed growing guides including soil requirements, planting seasons, water needs, and expected yields.
How do I get weather forecasts for my farm?
Go to Climate & Weather, set your county, and view current conditions, 24-hour forecasts, 7-day predictions, and farming recommendations. Severe weather alerts are highlighted at the top of the page.
Can I track my farm income and expenses?
Yes! Use the Finance section to record all income and expenses. View profit/loss statements, category breakdowns, monthly charts, and generate PDF reports. Perfect for tracking profitability and loan applications.
